CHICAGO – Indiana University South Bend junior Chris Mangus (JR/Niles, Michigan) was named to the 2016 All-Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Baseball Team as announced by the league office on Saturday.
The First-Team selection, Magus started all 51 games at first base for the Titans. Mangus led the IU South Bend offense in batting average (.382), hits (65), doubles (25), home runs (8), runs batted in (47), total bases (114), and walks (29).
Mangus was fifth in the CCAC in hits and RBI while leading the conference in doubles. His eight home runs and 114 total bases were good for second in the league.
Spencer McCool (FR/Anderson, Indiana) was also recognized by the CCAC for his stellar play in centerfield for the Titans as he was named to the Gold Glove Team. The freshman started all 51 games in centerfield while batting .311 in his first season with the Titans.
IU South Bend finished its inaugural season with an overall record of 21-30 and a 13-17 mark in CCAC action.
