SOUTH BEND, Ind. – Jeremy Jones (JR/Fort Wayne, Ind.) had the hot hand knocking down seven of the Indiana University South Bend men's basketball teams' 19 triples to finish with 23 points in an 87-58 victory over Wright State University Lake on Saturday afternoon. The Titans completed the season sweep of the Lakers after defeating them on October 26th by a score of 98-71.
Phil Corthen (FR/Muncie, Ind.) gave the Titans their largest lead of the first half at 21 points as he drained a triple with just under six minutes to play in the half. Avery Harmon (SR/Broadview, Ill.) pulled up in the lane and drilled a jumper to send the Titans into the break with a 19 point advantage.
The Lakers came out of the locker room and quickly cut their deficit to 11 points as they started knocking down shots. However, the IU South Bend offense got going once again and extended its lead to 24 points with 13:22 left in the game.
Wright State-Lake was not able to get any closer than 18 points for the duration of the games as the Titans cruised to their fifth win of the season.
Avery Harmon and Myluv Sutton (SO/Fort Wayne, Ind. ) each added 10 points while Taylor Brooks (JR/Granger, Ind.) grabbed a team-high nine rebounds. T.J. Benner (JR/Mishawaka, Ind.) dished out nine assists to go along with eight points.
The Titans will travel to Holy Cross on Wednesday to begin conference play. Tipoff is set for 7:30 p.m.
