The Indiana University South Bend volleyball team placed six on the CCAC All-Academic team as announced by the league office on Saturday. Emily NIx, Jenny Stahl (SR/Bristol, Ind.), and Ashley McClintock (JR/Westville, Ind.) earned their second honor while Sarah Allison (SO/Mishawaka, Ind.), Janelle Rehlander (JR/LaPorte, Ind.), and Leah Wimmer (SO/Goshen, Ind. ) picked up the honor for the first-time.
CHICAGO --- Thirteen schools landed no less than three all-academic selections when the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference announced its 76-member Women's Volleyball All-Academic Team Saturday night. Leading the way was conference regular-season co-champion Olivet Nazarene University with nine spots on the squad. Next in line was one of the other two league co-champions in Trinity Christian College with eight selections.
Cardinal Stritch University and St. Ambrose University followed with seven individuals being recognized, while University of St. Francis, the third conference co-champion and tournament champion, Indiana University South Bend, Robert Morris University Illinois and Trinity International University each collected six spots on the team. Putting up five individuals were Governors State University, Judson University and Roosevelt University.
Purdue University Northwest and Saint Xavier University rounded out the list with three selections each.
Of the honorees, 21 were repeat selections, six were three-peats and one earned the distinction four years running. Two members boasted a perfect 4.00 cumulative grade point average.
To be nominated for the award, a student-athlete must have been enrolled at her respective CCAC school for a minimum of one academic year, have completed at least 30 semester hours and boast no less than a 3.25 cumulative grade point average.
