SOUTH BEND, Ind. – Indiana University South Bend junior Ashley McClintock (JR/Westville, Ind.) was named to the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) NAIA MidEast all-region team for the second consecutive year as announced by the association on Friday afternoon. McClintock is the first player in IU South Bend volleyball history to earn the award after the Titans made a historic run to the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) National Tournament.
McClintock finished the season with a team-high 455 kills and 3.12 kills per set. McClintock surpassed the 1,000-kill plateau earlier this season, just the third player in history to accomplish the feat. She also led the team with 132 overall blocks on the year.
The middle hitter was also named to the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) first-team for the third consecutive season.
IU South Bend finished with 18 wins on the year eventually falling in the opening round of the NAIA National Tournament to Montana Tech University.
