South Bend, IN- Indiana University South Bend junior forward Ben Werner (New Paris, IN) averaged a double-double last week with a 21.5 points and 15.5 rebounds per game average. He helped lead the Titans to a win over University of Michigan Dearborn. For his efforts, Werner has been named CCAC Men's Basketball Division I Player of the Week for the week ending January 24.

In the 76-71 non-conference win over UM-Dearborn, Werner tallied 24 points and 14 rebounds, to go along with three assists. He connected on 12-of-17 shots.  Coming up just short against conference opponent St. Xavier University, 71-69, Werner put up another double-double with 19 points and 17 rebounds. He shot 6-of-11 from the field and made 7-of-11 free throws.
 
In the two games combined, Werner shot 64.3 percent from the field (18-28), to go along with his double-double averages in points and rebounds. Werner leads the league in rebounding (9.4 rpg.) and is third in scoring with his 15.3 points per game average.
 
IU South Bend sits at 6-16 overall and 2-2 in the CCAC.
