SOUTH BEND, Ind. – Leading by 26 at the half, it appeared as if the Indiana University South Bend men's basketball team was going to cruise to its seventh victory of the season over the Roosevelt Lakers. However, the Lakers wouldn't go away as they nearly came back to defeat the Titans. IU South Bend was able to squeak out a 79-76 victory to snap its three-game skid.
It was a tale of two halves for the Titans as they shot 10-of-16 from long distance in the first and just 3-of-16 in the second half.
Although the Lakers threatened to take the lead, the Titans did not trail for the duration of the win.
Jeremy Jones (JR/Fort Wayne, Ind.) had the hot hand for the Titans, hitting five triples en route to a team-high 23 points. Rashaan Jackson (SO/Warsaw, Ind.) who earned his first start of the year finished with 14 points while Myluv Sutton (SO/Fort Wayne, Ind. ) added 13.
The Titans will welcome Trinity Christian College to the Student Activities Center on Wednesday night.
