DAVENPORT, Iowa – A second half surge from the Indiana University South Bend men's basketball team led them to an 85-75 victory over St. Ambrose University on Saturday afternoon. Avery Harmon (SR/Broadview, Ill.) paced the Titans offense with a game-high 24 points off the bench.
IU South Bend found itself playing from behind for the duration of the first half as they trailed by as many as nine points but was able to cut the SAU lead to three points before the intermission.
Matt Bullinger (JR/Jackson, Mich. ) knotted the game at 42 with a triple on the Titans' first possession of the second half. The host Fighting Bees scored the next eight points regain the lead. However, the Titans then scored the next eight points to even the game for fourth time with just under 16 minutes left to play.
The Titans went on a 12-3 spurt to build its lead to nine points. With 3:45 left in the game Avery Harmon drained a three to give the Titans their largest lead of the game at 14 points. IU South Bend would not give up its lead en route to an 85-75 victory to move to 9-4 overall and 4-2 in the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference.
