SOUTH BEND, Ind. – The Indiana University South Bend men's basketball team overcame a 17-point deficit before falling in overtime by a score of 101-92 to Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference foe, Olivet Nazarene University on Thursday night.
Rashaan Jackson (SO/Warsaw, Indiana) delivered a huge three-point basket with 1:56 left in regulation to give the Titans their first lead since the 18:08 mark in the first half. On the next possession ONU's Tyler Crater put the Tigers back in front by one. Both teams traded baskets down to the wire.
With the Titans up two and 1.8 seconds on the clock the Tigers advanced the ball to the frontcourt and called a timeout. Crater caught the ball on the block and drained the turnaround jumper to tie the game at 86 and force an overtime period.
It was all ONU during the overtime period as the Titans had no answer for Tiger big man Nic Reed as Reed finished with 31 points and 16 rebounds in the win.
The Titans fall to 10-7 overall and 4-4 in CCAC action. The Titans will head to Judson University on Saturday for a CCAC tilt with the Eagles. Tipoff is set for 4:00 p.m.
