SOUTH BEND, Ind. – The Indiana University South Bend women's basketball team trailed from start to finish on Saturday afternoon as the 19th ranked Cardinal Stritch University Wolves handed the Titans a lopsided 76-55 loss.
Late in the second quarter the Titan defense started getting much needed stops and turn them into buckets, cutting the Stritch lead to seven points in the final two minutes. Maranda Huibregtse gave the Wolves a nine point advantage going into halftime as she drove the length of the floor and converted a layup to close out the half.
IU South Bend scored just nine points in the third frame and found themselves trailing by 21 points after 30 minutes of action, a deficit that was too large to overcome.
Sarah Rogian (JR/Boggstown, Indiana) pulled down a team-high eight rebounds to go with her nine points.
The Titans return to action on Wednesday as they host No. 1 University of St. Francis. Tipoff is slated for 5:30 p.m. and will stream live on www.rrsn.com.
