SOUTH BEND, Ind. – Paige Avery (JR/Mishawaka, Indiana) poured in a career-high 30 points on Wednesday night in the Indiana University South Bend women's basketball teams home finale as they flew by Governors State University by a score of 80-63.
The Titans rebounded from a slow start in the first quarter and ended the frame on an 11-0 run to take a 21-12 lead over the visiting Jaguars and continued to pour it on in the second quarter building their lead as large as 22 points after Lucy Presnal (SO/South Bend, Indiana) drained a triple, just her third made three of the season.
Things got interested in the fourth frame as the Jaguars cut the IU South Bend lead to 11 points but the Titan defense tightened up and did not let GSU get any closer.
IU South Bend will close out its season on Saturday as they travel to No. 1 University of St. Francis. The Fighting Saints enter the contest 29-0 on the season after a 114-103 win over Olivet Nazarene tonight.
