CHICAGO - Indiana University South Bend baseball designated hitter has been named the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Week as announced by the league office on Tuesday evening.
Mangus, a senior, was recognized as the CCAC Player of the Week after producing no less than one hit, scoring at least one run and driving in one or more runs in each of his team's five games last week. He finished the week batting .412 with seven hits, five runs scored and 10 RBIs.
Four of Mangus' seven hits over the seven-day span went for extra bases with one double and three home runs, two of which came in back-to-back games against Judson on Sunday. He also drove in three runs in the first Judson game and produced multiple-RBI games in two of three contests versus Olivet Nazarene earlier last weekend.
Indiana South Bend went 2-3 on the week – all conference games - leaving the Titans 11-18 overall and 4-8 in league play on the year.
The Titans will return to action on Wednesday as they travel to St. Ambrose University for a CCAC tilt. First pitch is scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
