SOUTH BEND, Ind. – Trevor Jain has committed to Head Coach Scott Cooper and the Indiana University South Bend men's basketball program for the 2017-18 season.
"Trevor is a tall, athletic, skilled kid who has a ton of potential. He is a natural wing who can really rebound, defend, and in the open floor handle the ball. His size and athleticism should allow him to play multiple positions in our system, and give us some versatility that we did not really have this past season," stated Cooper.
Jain will join the Titans after a year at NCAA Division II institution, Emmanuel College (GA). The 6'6" wing helped lead the Lions to a 20-12 record as a freshman. Under Coach Thomas Rosene the Pigeon Forge, Tennessee native averaged 3.3 points, 2.1 rebounds and 11 minutes per contest.
He is a little older and more experienced than a typical rising sophomore having been part of a very good NCAA division II program at Emmanuel for two years. He has had to go through many things off the court this past year that we think will only make him a better player and person in the end. He is a good get for our program, and I'm looking forward to seeing what he will become the next three years," continued Cooper.
Trevor originally signed with The Citadel out of high school but a coaching change before the fall semester of his first year landed him at Emmanuel College.
At Pigeon Forge High School, Jain averaged 17.8 points, 9.2 rebounds, and 3 assists in his senior season, which earned him Sevier County Player of the Year honors.
In addition, a track and field athlete, Jain finished third in the high jump at the 3A state championship as a senior.
