SOUTH BEND, Ind. – Dylan Allen will join the Indiana University South Bend men's basketball program for the 2017-18 season as announced by head coach, Scott Cooper.
Allen joins the Titans after an impressive prep career at Beech Grove High School in Indianapolis. The 6'0" point guard helped the Hornets to an 18-7 record as a senior. Allen averaged 16.8 points, 2.2 rebounds, and 1.8 steals per game while shooting 40 percent from beyond the arc, making 103 triples.
"Dylan is an athletic, versatile, scoring point guard, with a lot of upside. He is a solid shooter, who can also score and make plays for others off the dribble," said Cooper. "He changes speeds really well, and has good instincts defensively."
Dylan earned Indiana Crossroads First Team All-Conference and an All-Marion County Honorable Mention accolades and was invited to participate in the Hoosier Basketball Magazine Top 60 Seniors Showcase.
Allen also played on the Beech Grove football team as a wide receiver where he made 40 catches for 688 yards and eight touchdowns earning him All-Conference honors as a senior.
"He was well coached in high school by Coach English, which should help speed up his transition to college basketball," continued Cooper. "Dylan is also a great kid from a good family and a solid student in the classroom. He has a chance to be a very good player in our program as he continues to develop."
