KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Indiana University South Bend baseball standout, Chris Mangus (SR/Niles, Michigan) has been named a National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) All-American as announced by the NAIA office on Tuesday. Mangus becomes the first All-American in the brief history of the IU South Bend baseball program.
Mangus finished the season hitting .413 with 71 hits, 17 doubles, 20 home runs, 68 RBI and 33 walks, all team bests. The Niles, Michigan native ranked third in the NAIA in slugging percentage (.872), fourth in RBI's per game (1.36) and 12th in total home runs.
Chris finished his IU South Bend career with 345 hits, 89 runs, 136 hits, 42 doubles, 28 home runs, and 115 RBI.
The Titans posted an overall record of 24-26 with a 14-14 conference record. After making the CCAC Tournament, IU South Bend knocked off the first and second seed before falling to the University of St. Francis.
