Despite committing 20 first half turnovers and connecting on nine field goals in the first half, IU South Bend (17-7/4-2 CCAC) trailed by just three points at intermission. The second half, however, was much of the same as they were guilty of 15 more miscues - for a game total of 35 - as they fell to Trinity International 78-55. Katie Hacker (Indianapolis, IN/Franklin Central HS) put in 14 points and pulled down eight rebounds - both team highs - for IU South Bend.

From the start, the two teams exchanged several empty possessions, with neither team able to string together a run of baskets. With nearly ten minutes gone, the Titans found themselves down 13-11. The pace would never pick up in the opening stanza, and the Trojans took a 28-25 lead into the break.

Out of the half, TIU was able to get a pair of quick baskets, giving themselves a 33-27 advantage just a minute in. The Titans answered with two buckets of their own and had several possessions in which to cut further into the edge - or take the lead - but each time they came up empty.

Trinity would mount another run midway through the period, opening up what would be an 11 point lead before a Titan timeout. Coming out of the stoppage, a quick IU South Bend turnover and Trojan score pushed the lead to 13 before the Titans went on a quick spurt of their own, closing within 46-41 and forcing a TIU timeout.

From there, however, it was all Trojans as their full-court pressure stymied the TItan attack, as they pulled away to the win. In the contest, IU South Bend was held to just 37% shooting and 22% from behind the three point line, which TIU connected on 41% of its shots and and 35% from the outside.

IU South Bend committed its 35 turnovers - 20 by the starting lineup - and registered just six assists.

TIU placed five players in double figures, led by Reanna Perera's 19 and 16 more from Melanie Duplessis.

IU South Bend returns to action on Tuesday, February 16 when they travel to Chicago to take on Robert Morris. That game will tip off at 6:00 EST as part of a double header that night, and will be played in the Gentile Center on the Lakefront Campus of Loyola University.
