PERU, IN – Men's golf took fourth place out of eight teams in the Forester Fall Classic at Rock Hollow Golf Club.
After one round IU South Bend sat in third place with a team score of 316, just 13 shots behind leader Indiana Wesleyan. John Stack (SR/Goshen, Indiana) shot a first round score of 74, while Broc Maurer (JR/South Bend, Indiana) contributed a 79 to keep the Titans within striking distance entering the second and final round.
IU South Bend could not make a second round push, as they shot a 319 to finish with an overall score of 635, good enough for fourth place behind Indiana Wesleyan (620), Mt. Vernon Nazarene (621), and St. Francis-IN (633).
Payton Grubbs (JR/Nappanee, Indiana) paced the Titans as he finished the tournament tied for 14th place with an overall score of 158, John Stack and Broc Maurer both finished tied for 19th with scores of 160. Cameron Millhoff (SO/Greenwood, Indiana) was just one stroke behind finishing tied for 22nd with a 161. Kobe Freshwater (FR/Marion, Indiana) finished with a 172 for the tournament.
The next time IU South Bend will be teeing off is for the Battle of Blackthorn September 15-16.
