Joliet, IL- The IU South Bend men's basketball team lost their seventh consecutive conference game on Wednesady night to St. Francis by the score of 73-67. With the loss, IU South Bend falls to 6-22 overall on the season and 2-7 in CCAC action. USF improves to 8-19 overall and stands at 4-5 in conference play.
Ben Werner turned in yet another stellar performance for the Titans. The junior power forward scored a game-high 26 points and pulled down six rebounds on the night. Werner was perfect from the charity stripe connecting on all ten attempts. Teammate Mark Comparato was the only other player to reach double figures as he poured in 16 points in the loss.
USF registered four players in double figures with Billy Hubly leading the way with 16 points on 6-of-16 shooting. Teammate Andrew Fair pumped in 12 points in the victory. The Fighting Saints connected on 7-of-18 from behind the arc and hit on 24-of-33 free throws.
IU South Bend will travel to Olivet Nazarene University on Saturday afternoon to take on the Tigers. This game will conclude regular season play. Tip-time is slated for 3:00 pm CST.
