IU South Bend (19-11) committed 40 turnovers, and Robert Morris connected on 11-of-22 from behind the three-point line as the Eagles topped the Titans 70-50. Lizzie Stapke (Highland, IN/Highland HS) led the way for IU South Bend with 11 points, while Katie Hacker (Indianapolis, IN/Franklin Central HS) and Becca Hoefler (Valparaiso, IN/Valparaiso HS) each added nine. Hacker also led the Titans with a game-high ten rebounds.
From the get-go, the Titans were hot, hitting four of their first five attempts from behind the three-point line - with Stapke connecting on the first three - to take an early lead in the contest. From there, it was a struggle for IU South Bend, however, as the turnover bug struck hard during the middle stages of the opening half. With the 17 first half miscues from the Titans, RMU was able to open up a 39-26 advantage at the break.
The second half was much of the same for IU South Bend, as they connected on just one of their six attempts from behind the arc and the Eagles continued their hot shooting, making half of their tries.
The Titans would mount several small runs down the stretch, but each time they were answered by an RMU basket, and the Eagles were simply too much, holding on for the win.
Whitney Cole (North Judson, IN/North Judson HS) scored six points on 2-of-7 shooting (2-of-6 from three-point range), pulled down three rebounds and registered a block and an assist in her final game in a Titan uniform.
Jessica Harris scored 22 points to lead the Eagles, while Jerita Gordon added 18 more.
