Congratulations to Butler Bulldogs men's assistant basketball coach Micah Shrewsberry and the Butler basketball program for punching their ticket to the school's first Final Four NCAA Basketball Championship appearance. Fifth-seed Butler defeated No. 2 seed Kansas State 63-56 on Saturday afternoon.
Coach Shrewsberry arrived at Butler after serving as head coach at Indiana University South Bend for two seasons. He was named the first full-time coach of the Titans men's basketball program in 2005.
A former basketball standout at Cathedral High School in Indianapolis, Shrewsberry was a three-year starting guard and team tri-captain (1998-99) at Hanover College. He led the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference in free throw shooting (.833) and assists (4.4) in 1998-99.
Shrewsberry earned a B.A. degree from Hanover in 1999 and a master's degree in sports management from Indiana State University in 2003.
