Lebanon, IN- If there is a lesson that IU South Bend men's basketball coach Chad Tapp took away from this weekend's tournament it's that his team will play hard for until the final buzzer. For the second night in a row, the Titans played a solid game, but fell short in the waning seconds. IU South Bend (2-4 overall) lost to Missouri Baptist University 75-71 on Saturday night in the McKendree Bearcats Classic.
For the second consecutive night, Kyle Heatherly led the Titans in scoring as the sophomore pumped in a game-high 27 points. Teammate Steven Heatherly tallied 20 points and Henry Smith scored 13 points and pulled down a team high 7 rebounds. The Titans continue to play solid defense forcing MBU into 21 turnovers while IU South Bend only committed 14 on the night.
The Spartans had four players register double figures in the victory. LeAndre' Johnson led MBU with 18 points.
