South Bend, IN- The IU South Bend men's basketball team recorded their second victory of the week by defeating Kuyper College 81-34 on Friday night at the Student Activities Center on the campus of Indiana University South Bend. With the convincing victory the Titans improve to 4-7 on the season.
The Titans exploded for 53 second half points and registered a season high 24 steals on the night. Steven and Kyle Heatherly combined for 48 points in the victory. Steven Heatherly scored a game-high 25 points on 9-of-16 shooting from the field and pulled down seven rebounds in the victory. Kyle Heatherly pumped in 23 points on 10-of-12 shots from the field.
Power forward Henry Smith had his best game of the season in a Titan uniform scoring 17 points. Smith also had a game-high seven steals and dished out four assists. IU South Bend teammate Brad Kunce pulled down seven boards and had five swipes on the night for the Titans.
IU South Bend scorched the nets in the second half connecting on 23-of-39 field goals. The Titans were dialed in from long range draining 8-of-19 shots from behind the arc.
All ten Titan players saw action on the night and gave a strong effort both offensively and defensively. IU South Bend freshman Shane Cook registrered four steals on the night and provided a spark off the bench for Coach Tapp.
Terence Billups scored 13 points for Kuyper College who fell to 1-12 on the season.
The Titans will return to the hardwood on December 18th when they host Trinity Christian College. Tip-off is slated for 2:00 p.m. EST.
