Titan Men Drop Season Finale to Fighting Saints

Joliet, IL- Junior Jake Berger scored a team-high 15 points and pulled down nine rebounds, but it wasn't enough as IU South Bend dropped their season finale to the University of St. Francis by the score of 57-48 on Saturday afternoon. With the loss, the Titans fall to 11-19/3-7 CCAC and USF finishes at 21-9/6-4 CCAC. The Titans wrap up conference play tied for fourth place on the season.
Senior Andrew Fair was the difference maker in today's contest for USF. Fair finished the contest scoring a game-high 18 points on 9-of-12 shooting from the field. Center Bruce Watson was tough to deal with in the middle as he scored 10 points. The Fighting Saints outrebounded IU South Bend 34-23 in the contest, sixteen of which came on the offensive end.
Sophomore Kyle Heatherly scored 13 points and handed out five dimes for the Titans. Lefty Henry Smith chipped in with 12 points on 6-of-14 shooting on the afternoon. All five starters for IU South Bend played the entire contest.
Both teams sizzled the nets throughout the game as the Titans shot 45.5 from the field and the Fighting Saints shot 45.3.
IU South Bend will travel to St. Xavier University on Tuesday to take on the Cougars in CCAC Tournament play. Tip time is set for 8:00 EST.
