IU South Bend has been predicted to finish third in the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference in 2009-2010 in the league's preseason voting, according to the league's head coaches.
Head Coach Steve Bruce returns all but one of his players from a 16-16 squad from 2008-2009, including four starters.
The Titans scored 24 points in the ballotting, which awarded six points for a first place vote through one point for a sixth place vote.
Defending CCAC champions St. Xavier were chosen to finish first, receiving all six first place votes for 36 points, while St. Francis was selected second with 26. Robert Morris (18), Olivet Nazarene (17) and new CCAC member Holy Cross (6) rounded out the ballotting.
IU South Bend will open their season by hosting Wilberforce on November 3 at the Student Activities Center. Tip-off is scheduled for 6:00 PM. A year ago, the two teams split their contests, with each victorious on its home court.
