Bass Leads Titan Men To Road Victory Over TCC

Palos Heights, IL- IU South Bend point guard Alanzo Bass led three Titan players in double figures in a road victory over Trinity Christian College (6-10) by the score of 69-61. With the victory the Titans improve to 7-6 on the season.
Junior Alanzo Bass scored a team-high 23 points on 8-of-11 shooting from the field and 7-of-8 from the charity stripe in the victory for the Titans. The gritty point guard has been clicking on all cylinders lately hitting on 16-of-22 shots from the floor and 10-of-14 from the free throw line in his last two contests. Teammates Henry Smith and Kyle Heatherly scored 18 and 13 points respectively and played well tonight securing the victory for the Titans.
IU South Bend fell behind early in the first half down eight points at the 15:03 mark as the Trolls connected on long range jumpers from behind the arc. However, the Titans would answer back going on their own 7-0 run to end the half as junior shooting guard Steven Heatherly drained a jumper in the waning seconds before intermission.
The Titans would not skip a beat out of the locker room scoring the first four points of the second half taking a commanding 33-25 lead. The Titans led the entire second half until TCC took a 51-49 lead but a steal and lay-up by Alazno Bass knotted things up at 51-51. IU South Bend would prevail down the stretch and hold off TCC.
The Titans scorched the nets in the victory shooting an impressive 27-of-48 (56.3%) from the field and committed just nine turnovers.
The Titans return to the hardwood on Friday, December 23, when they host University of Michigan-Dearborn. Tip-off for the matinee is set for 2:00 PM (EST).
