
Joliet, IL- The IU South Bend men's basketball team snapped their three game winning streak on Saturday night falling to St. Francis 67-59 in CCAC action. With the loss the Titans sit at 13-11 overall and 3-2 in the conference.
The first half saw the lead change 13 times as IU South Bend took a 34-32 advantage into the break. Cold shooting beyond the arc would hurt the Titans in the long run as USF built a 59-49 advantage in the second half.
The Titans fought their way back into the contest going on their own 10-3 run making the score 62-59 with just a 1:16 left remaining in the contest. A couple of good looks from 3-point range fell short and this sealed the victory for the Saints.
Chris Beam scored a team-high 16 points on 5-of-12 shots from the field and added three steals on the night for IU South Bend. Teammate Marcus Macellari brought energy off the bench and poured in 10 points and pulled down a team-high eight rebounds in 28 minutes of action.
The Titans struggled shooting from long range going 0-of-13 from beyond the arc. The Saints controlled the boards outrebounding the Titans 37-27.
Jordan Lee led the Saints with 19 points and pulled down eight rebounds in the victory.
IU South Bend will travel to Judson University on Wednesday, February 9, to take on the Eagles. Tip-time is set for 8:30 EST.
