
Kyle Heatherly scored a game-high 22 points but it wasn't enough as the Titans ended their 2011-12 campaign on Tuesday night falling to the University of St. Francis in CCAC Quarterfinal action 66-57. IU South Bend wraps up the season 16-15 overall.
The Titans fell behind early 23-13 behind 3-point shooting from freshman point guard Chris Miller. He connected on 4-of-4 shots from beyond the arc and led the Fighting Saints with 12 first half points. IU South Bend trailed 34-24 at the half.
Out of the break the Titans fell behind by as many as fifteen but fought their way back into the contest trailing 58-53 with just five minutes left in the contest. This is as close as the Titans would get ending the 2011-12 season.
Kyle Heatherly connected on 5-of-12 shots from the field and was aggressive taking the ball to the basket getting to the charity stripe connecting on 12-of-14 as the junior guard tallied 22 points in 28 minutes. Steven Heatherly and Alanzo Bass chipped in with nine points apiece in the loss. Bass dished out four assists and had five swipes on the night in 38 minutes of action.
For the Fighting Saints, Chris Miller tallied 17 points and teammate Chris Elder chipped in with 12 points.
