Head Coach Scott Cooper lands his first commitment in Fort Wayne North Side's Oosha Mitchell
South Bend, Ind. – Indiana University South Bend Head Men's Basketball Coach Scott Cooper has announced the addition of Oosha Mitchell to the men's basketball program for the 2014-15 season. Mitchell is the first commitment for first year Head Coach Scott Cooper.
Mitchell, the 6-5 forward played his prep basketball at Fort Wayne North Side High School under Head Coach Shabaz Khaliq. In his junior season, Oosha helped lead the Redskins to the Summit Athletic Conference Championship, scoring 10.8 points and pulling in 5.7 rebounds per game.
"We were very excited to get Oosha's commitment last week," said Head Coach Scott Cooper. " Oosha is very versatile player. He is a strong, athletic four-man who can shoot the three with range, score off the dribble from the perimeter, and play with his back to the basket in the post. He has a good feel for the game, plays extremely hard, and has been well coached in high school. He should be able to help us right away. More importantly, Oosha is a great kid who is a very good student in the classroom. He is exactly the type of player and person we want in our program, and I expect him to have a very good career here on and off the court."
Mitchell plans to major in Biology at IU South Bend.
