Lizzie Stapke (Highland, IN/Highland HS) connected on three triples en route to a team-high 13 points as IU South Bend topped Michigan-Dearborn 72-59. Three other Titans also hit the double-figure mark, as Courtney Simpson (Nappanee, IN/NorthWood HS) dropped in a career high 12 off the bench and Becca Hoefler (Valparaiso, IN/Valparaiso HS) and Katie Hacker (Indianapolis, IN/Franklin Central) each chipped in with 11.

After a back-and-forth first half, the Titans got threes from Stapke and Ashley Hummer (South Bend, IN/Mishawaka Marian HS [Goshen College]), as they widened a tight game to a 12-point halftime edge. Hoefler also looked strong in the opening stanza, scoring a team-high nine points.

After the break IU South Bend struggled from the floor, connecting on just 30% (9-of-30) from the field while struggling to add to their advantage. The Wolves brought the Titan edge to as few as six on several occasions, but were unable to get any closer and IU South Bend held on for a 72-59 win.

In addition to her career-high points, Simpson narrowly missed her first career double-double, as she nabbed a career-best nine rebounds - a number that was matched by Hacker. Tiffanie Graham (South Bend, IN/Riley HS [Southeastern Illinois]) handed out five assists, while Simpson shined in that category as well, dishing out four.

Three Wolves hit double figures, led by Nicole MacLoed's game-high 16. Megan Robinets added 15, while Kim Lackowski chipped in with 14.

The Titans will make their first journey away from the comforts of the Student Activities Center on Saturday, as they travel across town to take on new conference foe Holy Cross in what will be the first CCAC contest of the season for IU South Bend. That game will be played at the Pfeil Center at Holy Cross and tip off is scheduled for 12:00 noon.
