South Bend, IN – The IU South Bend men's basketball team dropped a contest to Siena Heights University on Tuesday evening at the Student Activities Center. The Titans shot just 32% from the field on the night, and committed 18 turnovers.
In the opening half, the Titans would take their only lead of the game when Chris Beam (Borden, IN) drained a three-pointer to give IU South Bend a 3-2 advantage. The Titans would threaten but could never get within one point as the Saints ended the half, leading by nine points.
Chris Beam brought the Titans within four points when he converted a fast-break layup on the steal by Jason Jordan (South Bend, IN). However, the shooting woes would continue for the Titans as Siena Heights went on a 15-2 run that lasted over seven minutes.
With the game winding down, the Titans went on an 11-0 run to get within five points with 1:11 to play, but the run was too little too late as IU South Bend dropped the game 68-58.
Jordan was one of three Titans in double-figures with 19 points, while Chris Beam joined him with 14 points including 5-of-5 from the free throw line and Mark White (Muncie, IN) chipped in with 10 points.
Riley Stichter (Milford, IN) dominated on the glass for the Titans, pulling in 13 rebounds in the loss.
The Titans return to the hardwood on Saturday as they travel to Indiana University Southeast. Tip-off is set for 2:00 p.m.
