Mishawaka, IN - The IU South Bend men's basketball team fell to 1-5 on the year with a 111-63 loss at #9 ranked Bethel College on Saturday afternoon. The Titans got a strong performance from their bench as they posted 33 of the teams 63 points.
The Titans played tough with the Pilots in the early goings of the first half as they were within two after Brandon Beam (Borden, IN) knocked down a triple to make the score 10-8. However, the Pilots would break the game open with a pair of runs, the first being a 10-0 run and the second being a 19-2 run. The Titans were not able to recover from the runs as they went into halftime trailing 70-35.
The second 20 minutes of action were not as fast paced as the first. Bethel outscored the Titans 41-32 in the second half. The Titans lost the rebound battle as they grabbed 39, 13 of which were offensive and Bethel pulled down 57 rebounds on the night.
Adison Daub (Corunna, IN) led the Titans in scoring with 12 points off the bench including 3-of-5 shooting from beyond the arc. Austin Paul (Columbia City, IN) came in off the bench and scored seven points and had a team-high seven boards.
IU South Bend will return home on Wednesday as they welcome Brescia University. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. EST
