South Bend, IN – After a long layoff, the Titan men's basketball team dropped a Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference game to visiting Olivet Nazarene University by a score of 88-74 on Wednesday night. Adison Daub (Corunna, IN) found his stroke late in the second half as he scored a team-high 19 points on 6-12 shooting from beyond the arc.
The Titans fell behind in the opening minutes and the Tigers never surrendered the lead for the duration of the game.
The Tigers began to pull away in the final seven minutes of the first half, as they opened up a 17 point lead with 3:32 remaining in the half.
Trailing by 22 with just seconds to play in the half, Chris Beam (Borden, IN) took the in-bound pass and drove the distance to lay the ball in to cut the halftime deficit to 20 points for the Titans.
With 8:28 left in the game, the Tigers held their largest lead of the game, 29 points.
Daub started heating up with just over five minutes left in the game as he knocked down three consecutive triples to bring the Titans within 23 points and would later hit two more to bring them within 14 points. However it was too little, too late for the Titans as the Tigers would maintain their lead and come away with a 14 point victory.
The Titans welcome the 7th ranked cougars of Saint Xavier on Saturday, with the ball going in the air at 2:00 p.m.
