South Bend, IN – The Titans welcomed the No. 1 Cardinal Stritch University Wolves to the Student Activities Center on Wednesday evening for a Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference matchup. The Titans got down early, and could not recover. After trailing 50-30 at the half, the Titans fell 96-70 to CSU.
The Wolves opened up the game with a 16-2 run, and would eventually go up 29-9 for their largest lead of the half. The Titans had some good looks, but couldn't covert, while the Wolves had the hot hand, shooting 63% from the field in the first half while the Titans shot just 33% (9-27) in the first 20 minutes of action.
Early on in the second half, CSU pushed their lead to 26 points with 16:00 left to play. The Titans fought their way back into the game with a 10-1 run to cut their deficit to 17 points.
With just over six minutes to go in the game, the Titans continued to play hard and got within 14 points, but the CSU attack was too much for the Titans to handle as the Wolves finished the game on an 18-6 run.
Brandon Beam (Borden, IN) finished the game with a team-high 17 points on 6-of-11 shooting, including 3-of-5 from long range. Jordan Grant (Gary, IN) gave the Titans a season-high 11 points off the bench. Jason Jordan (South Bend, IN) added 11 points including three 3-pointers.
