Men's Basketball - Sat, Dec 5, 2009
(South Bend, IN)  The IU South Bend men's basketball team suffered a tough loss on Saturday afternoon against Siena Heights University by the score of 73-72 at the Student Activities Center on the campus of IU South Bend.  A driving lay-up with 3.4 seconds by Mark Snipes lifted the Saints over the Titans.  With the defeat the Titans fall to 2-8 on the season.
 
The Titans trailed 38-29 at halftime and came out firing from behind the arc in the second half.  Leading the way was senior Mark Comparato.  He connected on 6 of 10 shots from behind the arc and had a team-high 18 points on the afternoon.  Junior Ben Werner turned in another solid performance for IU South Bend scoring 14 points and pulling down 8 rebounds in the contest.  Werner also had a team-high 4 swipes on the day for the Titans.  Teammates Terry Hill and Quinn Brooks chipped in with 13 and 10 points respectively to round out the scoring for IU South Bend.   The Titans shot 58.3% in the second half and 14 of 15 overall from the charity stripe on the day.
 
The Saints were led by Mark Snipe who scored 18 points while teammate Cortney Smith finished with 16 points in the win.  Siena Heights shot the ball well from the field connecting on 26-48 from the field and 5 of 11 from behind the arc.

The Titans will return to action tomorrow as they travel to Aquinas College to take on the Saints.  The game will be played at Grand Rapids Community College with a start time of 3:00 p.m.
