NOTRE DAME, Ind. – Freshman Oosha Mitchell led three players in double figures with a season-high 22 points as the Indiana University South Bend men's basketball team earned their first Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference win over Holy Cross College by a score 75-72. The Titans moved to 4-4 on the season and will travel to Lawrence Tech University on Saturday.
The Titans and Saints were both playing their first CCAC games of the season and early on both teams traded baskets. It wasn't until Holy Cross went on a 16-4 run to take an 11 point lead with eight minutes to play in the first half. The IU South Bend defense picked up the pressure and cut the Saints' lead to four points entering halftime.
Javonte Young gave the Titans their first lead of the game since the 14:18 mark when he converted the old fashioned three point play with less than five minutes remaining in the game. IU South Bend would not look back, hitting four-of-six free throws down the stretch.
