(South Bend, IN) The IU South Bend men's basketball team fell to Grace College on Tuesday night at the Student Activities Center on the campus of IU South Bend. The Lancers took a 14 point lead into halftime and held on to defeat the Titans 80-65. With the defeat the Titans stand at 2-10 on the season and the Lancers improve to 7-3.
Ben Werner and Mark Comparato led the way for the Titans by scoring 16 points apiece. In just 27 minutes of action due to early foul trouble, Werner made 7 of 14 shots from the floor and had a team-high 7 rebounds on the night. Comparato continues to burn the nets from the outside as he connected on 4 of 8 shots from behind the arc and logged significant minutes for the Titans. Quinn Brooks chipped in with 7 points in the loss for the Titans.
Grace College registered three players in double figures led by David Swanson. He finished with a game-high 28 points on 13 of 18 shooting for the Lancer. Duke Johnson was impressive on the boards and registered a double-double for Grace. He score 18 points and pulled down 10 boards. Teammate Elliot Smith chipped in with 11 to round out the scoring for the Lancers.
The Titans will be back in action on Saturday as they travel to IUPUI to take on the Jaguars. Tip-time is scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
