Lizzie Stapke (Highland, IN/Highland HS) scored 16 points and Katie Hacker (Indianapolis, IN/Franklin Central HS) dropped in 14 more and added a game-high nine rebounds, but it was not enough, as IU South Bend (10-3, 1-0) couldn't overcome 23 turnovers in a 56-53 loss at the hands of Huntington. The Titans led by as many as ten points midway through the second half, but the Foresters clawed back, taking a one-point advantage with an 11-0 run.

Early in the contest, Huntington found their offense, connecting on the first six points of the game, but it was the Titans who were able to close their first stanza on a 12-2 spurt to take a 29-25 lead into the break. IU South Bend continued their hot streak out of the half, pushing the advantage to 37-27 with an 8-2 edge to begin the second.

In the closing minutes, the Titans found themselves down by six at 47-41, but two free throws by Hacker - with a rebounding foul on the Foresters on the second attempt - followed by a pair from Courtney Simpson (Nappanee, IN/NorthWood HS) brought the lead to just a pair.

From there, the Foresters were able to connect on enough of their charity tosses to hold on for the three point win.

The Titans defense was stout, holding Huntington to just 31% shooting and 0-for-11 from behind the three-point line, but the free throw line was kind to the Foresters, where they connected on 24-of-32, including a perfect 11-for-11 night from Jenna Donaldson.

Donaldson led all players with 19 points for Huntington, while Courtney Beerbower chipped in with 11 points and eight rebounds. Kelsey Green also pulled down eight caroms for the Foresters.

The Titans return to action just one more time before an extended break, as they travel to Grace College in Winona Lake, IN on Saturday, December 12. TIp time is slated for 5:00 PM.
