PALOS HEIGHTS, Ill. – Jacob Foster (FR/Muncie, Ind.) netted a team-high 18 points, just one point shy of his career high as the Indiana University South Bend men's hoops team fell 81-64 to the host, Trinity Christian College on Saturday afternoon. The loss marks the third straight for the Titans.
IU South Bend took their first lead of the game after Oosha Mitchell (FR/Fort Wayne, Ind.) dropped in a three-pointer at the 13:59 mark in the opening half. Mitchell finished with 10 points, seven of which came from the free throw line.
Both teams traded baskets for the final ten minutes of the half, and the Titans came out on top as they took a slim 35-33 advantage into the break.
The Trolls regained the lead at the 16:58 mark on a three-point basket. A pair of free throws from Foster got the Titans back within one, 45-44. Trinity Christian then went on an 11-2 run to take their first double digit lead of the game.
IU South Bend cut the Trolls lead to eight points, but that was as close as they would get as they fell on the road.
T.J. Benner (FR/Mishawaka, Ind.) added 10 points, while Foster also pulled down a team-high seven rebounds.
The Titans will travel to No. 19 Cardinal Stritch University on Wednesday.
