SOUTH BEND, Ind. – The Indiana University South Bend men's basketball squad snapped its four-game losing streak today as they defeated Judson University by a score of 73-63. The win moves the Titans to 11-13 overall on the season and 5-8 in Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference action.
Freshman Jacob Foster (FR/Muncie, Ind.) had a career-day scoring 22 points on 10-of-12 shooting including two highlight reel dunks.
It was a see-saw contest for the first five minutes of the game before the Titans took control and led for the duration of the half. Oosha Mitchell (FR/Fort Wayne, Ind.) gave IU South Bend a six-point lead with 6:13 to go in the half. The Eagles scored on the next possession to cut the lead to four points but Foster drove down the lane and dunked over the Judson defender to put the Titans back up by six.
All square at 29 with 1:00 to play in the half, Riley Stichter (JR/Milford, Ind.) put back a Mitchell miss to send the Titans into halftime with a slim 31-29 advantage.
With 11:28 to play in the game, Jeremy Jones (FR/Fort Wayne, Ind.) drilled a 3-pointer from the corner to give IU South Bend its first double digit lead. That would Jones' only points of the afternoon.
IU South Bend did not relinquish the lead for the rest of the game on its way to their first win in five tries.
The Titans will welcome Holy Cross College to the Student Activities Center on Wednesday night. Tipoff is slated for 7:30 p.m.
