Katie Hacker (Indianapolis, IN/Franklin Central HS) made nine of her 12 field goal attempts - including 3-of-5 from behind the three-point line - and all five of her free throw attempts as she scored a game-high 26 points to lead IU South Bend to an 86-76 win over Grace. Betsy Grogan (Battle Ground, IN/West Lafayette Harrison HS) added 15 points and five assists, while Ashley Hummer (South Bend, IN/Mishawaka Marian HS [Goshen College]) chipped in with ten.

After a quick start put the Titans in front by a 14-8 margin, Grace stormed back, taking the lead at 24-23 midway through the first half behind strong post play. Kayla Skaggs, Emily Bidwell and Danielle Boykin - all post players - combined to score 30 of the Lancers' 42 first half points, but it was IU South Bend that held a slim, 44-42 edge heading into the break.

Coming out of the locker room, it was all Titans for the first several minutes, as their defense forced turnovers on each of Grace's first five possessions, resulting in the Lancers not getting a shot attempt for the first three minutes of the half. Through that period, the Titans extended their halftime lead to double figures.

As the second half went on, IU South Bend continued to slowly pull away, leading by as many as 17 late in the contest before Grace pulled the final margin back to ten.

In the contest, the Titans shot the ball well from everywhere on the court, connecting on 55% (26-of-47) of their field goal attempts, 40% (6-of-15) of their three point shots and 90% (28-of-31) from the free throw line.

IU South Bend will not return to the court until after the new year, taking an extended break from games before making their only extended road trip of the season, when they will take on Michigan-Dearborn on January 3 and Georgetown (KY) College on January 5.
