CHICAGO, Ill. – Freshman Oosha Mitchell has been named the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Freshman of the Year as announced by the league office on Monday evening.
Mitchell had an impressive debut season for the Titans as he led the team in scoring with just over 14 points per game. In conference action, Oosha scored nearly 16 ppg while also leading the team in rebounds, pulling down 6.2 rebounds per game.
The Fort Wayne, Indiana native showed versatility that proved to be a matchup problem for opponents as he shot 39 percent from beyond the arc and 41 percent from the field. Mitchell led the team in blocks with 25 while dishing out 24 assists and recording 23 steals.
Oosha recorded four double-doubles and scored a season-high 22 points on two occasions against Olivet Nazarene and Holy Cross.
Mitchell also received all-conference honorable mention accolades in his rookie season with the Titans.
