(South Bend, IN)  The IU South Bend men's basketball team opened conference play with an 85-76 victory over the Saints from Holy Cross College at the Student Activities Center on the campus of IU South Bend.  With the victory, the Titans improve to 3-11 on the season and 1-0 in conference play as the Saints drop to 2-15 and 0-3 in the CCAC.
 
The Titans jumped out to a quick 24-9 lead in the first half on three consecutive jumpers from behind the arc by Quinn Brooks.  IU South Bend took a 40-33 lead into halftime and seemed to be in control of the contest.  The Saints battled the entire contest behind solid play from point-guard JT Breveard.  He scored 19 points and dished out 7 assists for the Saints.  Teammate Taylor Willams scored 14 points in 27 minutes of action for the Saints who led by as many as five points In the second half with 6:12 left in the game.  Clutch baskets by Ben Werner and solid free throw shooting by the Titans sealed the victory.   
 
The Titans registered five players in double figures in the victory.  Leading the way was Ben Werner as he finished the contest with 21 points and 17 rebounds for IU South Bend.  Quinn Brooks poured in 17 points and was stellar from the field. 
 
In his first action of the season, Kyle Heatherly made an immediate impact and finished the game with 13 points on 5 of 10 shooting from the field.  Mark Comparato dished out a team-high six assists while teammates Cameron Loepker and Dylan Morris scored 12 and 10 points respectively to round out the Titans box score.
