SOUTH BEND, Ind. – Indiana University South Bend baseball coach Brian Blondell has announced the signing of Michael Mehall, an outfielder from Roswell, Georgia. Mehall is a 2015 graduate of Blessed Trinity Catholic High School.
The 5'11" incoming freshman was a fixture for Game Ready Athletics/Premier Baseball teams throughout high school. Michael led his team in many statistical categories such as: outfield assists, fielding percentage, on base percentage, stolen bases, and runs scored while boasting the second best batting average and slugging percentage on the GRA squad.
Mehall helped GRA/Premier Baseball to four championship appearances while coming away with two championships. Michael was selected to two all-tournament teams during his stint with GRA/Premier Baseball.
Off the field, Michael was very active in the community as he regularly volunteered in area soup kitchens. At Blessed Trinity, Mehall was a part of Future Christian Athletes, Key Club, and Habitat for Humanity.
The IU South Bend baseball team will kick off its inaugural season with practice beginning in early September. The Titans' first regular season game will be on February 19 in Cartersville, Georgia.
