SOUTH BEND, Ind. – The Indiana University South Bend men's basketball squad has inked its first signee in the class of 2020 as announced by head coach Scott Cooper.
Jackson Edwards will join the Titans after back-to-back all-state honorable mentions and first team all-conference selections in his sophomore and junior seasons. The 6'1" combo-guard helped lead the Knightstown High School Panthers to a 15-8 record while scoring just over 16 points per game. Jackson also averaged 5.3 rebounds and 3.3 assists while shooting 46 percent from the field as a junior.
"Jackson is good get for our program on a lot of levels," said Coach Cooper. "He is an athletic combo-guard that can score a lot of different ways; make plays off the bounce, and rebounds pretty well for being 6'1". We think he has the potential to be a very good defender, and give us some depth at the point once he adjusts to the speed and physicality of college basketball. Jackson is also a very good kid and an outstanding student in the classroom. He is exactly what you want in a student-athlete."
Edwards plans to study business at IU South Bend.
