CHICAGO, Ill. – After a historic run to its first ever Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Tournament Championship game the Indiana University South Bend men's basketball team has landed two seniors on the CCAC All-Conference Honorable Mention team.
Riley Stichter (SR/Milford, Ind.) and Javonte Young (SR/Mishawaka, Ind.) were both a huge part of the Titans success this season. Stichter a four-year player was part of a trio that became the all-time winningest player in IU South Bend basketball history. Young who transferred in was a fixture in the Titans lineup during his two seasons.
Stichter had a breakout year in his final season as he averaged 10.3 points and 8.5 rebounds per game. He started in all 33 games and averaged 29 minutes per contest while shooting 55 percent from the field. There was no shot bigger than the final shot in the CCAC Tournament semi-finals that went in with .2 seconds left and sent the Titans to the title game and a chance at an automatic bid to the NAIA National Tournament.
Young also started in all 33 games for the Titans this year and led the team in scoring with 12.5 ppg. Young also averaged 4.2 rebounds per game which was good for third on the team and shot 45 percent from the field and 36 percent from long distance.
IU South Bend finished its season with an overall record of 19-14.
