Chad Tapp - Head Coach - 1st Season

Chad Tapp serves as Head Men's Basketball Coach and Coordinator of Event Management at IU South Bend in the Titan Athletics Department.  Prior to his arrival at IU South Bend, he served as an assistant coach at Taylor University for six seasons.  During his tenure at Taylor the Trojans captured three Mid-Central Collegiate Conference basketball championships.   

Tapp's collegiate career began at Tennessee Wesleyan College in Athens, Tennessee. After one season, he transferred to Shawnee Community College in Ullin, Illinois where he was an All-Region nominee, selected to the Illinois Junior College North vs. South All-Star Game, as well as the Illinois vs. Missouri Junior College All-Star Game.
 
From there, Tapp moved on to Taylor University where he was a member of the 2003-2004 NAIA National Tournament team that was ranked as high as number two in the country. That is one of three conference championships and three national tournament appearances Tapp has been a part of at Taylor, including a Sweet 16 appearance at the NAIA National Tournament in 2006.

Tapp graduated from Taylor in 2005 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology. He completed his Master's degree in sports management in 2008.

Tim Davis Image
Tim Davis - Assistant Coach - 1st Season

Tim Davis graduated from John Glenn High School in 2006 and attended IU South Bend where he was a member of the men's basketball team for four years. During his tenure with the Titans, he earned CCAC Academic All-Conference his junior and senior years and was named a Daktronics NAIA Scholar Athlete his senior year.

Davis looks forward to continuing his involvement with the Titan basketball program as a member of the coaching staff. Davis is on the Dean's List  working towards his Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and will graduate in 2011.

 
James Hafley Image
James Hafley - Assistant Coach - 1st Season

James Hafley enters his second season as an assistant coach with Indiana University South Bend. Prior to coming to IU South Bend, Hafley served as boy's varsity coach at Lawrence (MI) High School where his team finished with a 16-5 record and earned the SAC South division championship.

From 2007-2009, Hafley was boys head J.V. coach and varsity assistant at New Buffalo (MI) High School. The varsity squad went 36-10 in two years and won its first district championship in 12 years in 2009.

Hafley works at Buchanan High School as the intervention facilitator (on-line credit redemption) for students in grades 9-12.


Hafley graduated from Henderson State University in 2003 with a degree in secondary education. 

 
 
Alex Daniel Image
Alex Daniel - Assistant Coach - 1st Season

Alex Daniel enters his first season as an assistant coach with Indiana University South Bend. Prior to coming to IU South Bend, Daniel served as boy's varsity assistant coach at Yorktown High School.

From 2009-2011, Daniel served as boy's varsity assistant, junior varsity, freshman coach at Yorktown High School.

A 2005 graduate of Muncie Central High School, Daniel was the leading scorer on the Indiana High School Athletic Association class 4A runner up. Upon graduation Alex signed with and played for Saginaw Valley State University (MI). After one season he transferred to Lake Land Community College (IL) where he was named team captain for his sophomore season. Daniel would move on play at Taylor University where he was a member of the 2007-08 team that was ranked as high as number twenty in the NAIA.

Daniel graduated from Ball State University in 2011 with a degree in business and human psychology.
