It is the mission of the Office of Athletics and Activities to enhance student learning and personal development by teaching skills to achieve and provide opportunities to experience success in developing healthy lifestyles in harmony with the university's commitment to learning. The mission will address the whole person incorporating the physical and emotional well-being of the individual.

As educators within the Division of Student Affairs and Enrollment Management, we strive to foster academic and intellectual development, and create a climate that supports learning in all aspects of student life. Through collaboration, we cultivate and promote responsibility, accountability and excellence in our students. We mentor and empower students to develop to their highest potential and to become leaders in their communities. 
 

It is the mission of Indiana University South Bend's athletic training service to provide quality medical coverage and care for the student athletes competing in intercollegiate sports. There will be an emphasis on the prevention of injuries through education and preventative techniques, as well as providing a safe competitive environment. The injuries incurred while participating will be managed, treated, and rehabilitated to ensure a safe return back to sports and to daily life. When necessary, appropriate referral of student athletes to medical and/or other health personnel will be done.
